Quickstart: pages#

On this page

A sketch book holds as many pages as you like. Add them three ways, size them, move between them, and export them all at once. Pages has the full detail.

1. Show the pages panel#

Ctrl + B shows or hides the thumbnail panel down the side; drag its edge to make the thumbnails bigger.

2. Add a page like the one in view#

Press + Page at the top of the panel, or choose Pages > Add Page > Default New Page: a blank page the same size as the one in view, turned to with a page-turn.

3. Add a page of a size you type#

  1. Choose Pages > Add Page > Custom New Page… (the same row is in the panel's hamburger menu, beside + Page).
  2. Page Settings opens with Sized page already chosen. Type the width and height.
  3. Press Add Page. Closing the dialog instead adds nothing.

4. Add a page from a selection#

  1. Select something on the page (S, then drag round it).
  2. Choose Pages > Add Page > From Selection: the new page is the selection's size, and a copy of the selection comes with it, at its corner and selected. The originals stay where they were.

5. Size a page#

Right-click the panel, or choose Pages > Page Settings…: an endless page fills the window, which is how a new sketch starts; a sized page keeps an exact width and height and shows a dashed outline.

6. Move between pages#

Click a thumbnail to turn to its page; everything you drew stays where you left it. PageUp and PageDown turn back and on a page, as do Pages > Previous Page and Next Page and the ‹ and › at the right of the status bar. Pages > Delete Page removes the page in view, and is greyed while there is only one.

7. Export every page#

Under File > Export, each format offers Export all pages: PNG, JPEG and SVG write name_1, name_2 and on, one file a page, and PDF writes every page into one document.
