🎚️ Interactive Potentiometer Simulator
Adjust the dial to control voltage and current
Circuit: 9V Battery → Potentiometer → LED
LED Brightness
How Potentiometers Work:
- Variable Resistance: Moving the dial changes the electron flow distance
- Three Terminals: Two end terminals and one center wiper terminal
- Voltage Control: Controls output voltage from the center pin
- Current Control: Can also limit current in circuit
- Brightness Control: Dial right = less resistance = brighter LED
- Voltage Divider: Creates variable voltage between 0V and supply voltage
Common Applications:
- Volume controls in audio equipment
- Brightness adjustments in lights and displays
- Temperature control in heaters
- Speed control in motors
- Analog input sensors for microcontrollers
